LAYER ITは、ドラム、パーカッション、エフェクトのワンショットをレイヤーで作成するために設計されたVSTサンプラーです。サンプル間の時間関係を正確に制御でき、サウンドデザインに不可欠なパラメータを形成するマルチステージエンベロープジェネレーターを搭載し、迅速な作業を可能にする便利な視覚フィードバックを提供します。従来のオーディオやMIDIクリップを使用したドラムレイヤリングの方法は、迅速でもシームレスでもありません。オーディオクリップでは複数のサンプルを入れ替えたり編集したりすることが制限され、別トラックのMIDIクリップでは波形の関係性が視覚的に把握できず、一般的なマルチサンプルドラムラックでは各サンプルをトリガーするために別々のMIDIノートが必要です。これらはわずかないくつかの欠点であり、さらにクリップのスタックをコピー＆ペーストするのもどの方法でも煩雑です。

LAYER ITは、オーディオの視覚的明瞭さとMIDIの柔軟な制御を統合し、各方法の制限を回避します。DAWのアレンジビューに似た視覚表示で、波形を上下に並べ、各レイヤーのボリュームやパンなどの標準パラメータを設定できます。しかし、レイヤー化されたサンプルのスタック全体の再生は、個別のMIDIノートや単一のキー操作でトリガーでき、各サンプルの時間オフセットも個別に調整可能で、セッションのテンポに同期させることができます。

さらに、各レイヤーのボリューム、ピッチ、フィルター周波数、ディストーション量は専用のマルチステージエンベロープジェネレーターで設定でき、比類なきサウンド形成の精度とサウンドデザインの可能性を拡張します。

要するに、LAYER ITはMIDIトリガー再生を備えた効率的で自己完結型のDAWとして機能し、作成したドラムスタックは単一のオーディオファイルとしてフォルダーにエクスポートすることも、DAWのタイムラインに直接ドラッグすることも可能です。
